Quote Of The Day... The greatest results in life are usually attained by simple means and the exercise of ordinary qualities. These may for the most part be summed in these two: common sense and perseverance. Owen Feltham

Delish Breakfast Sandwich [Scrambled Eggs]

Lately, I've been experimenting with different sandwiches.. My last post that I've shared with you all was my Delish Watercress Tuna Fish Sandwich, and I hope you guys enjoyed it!!! Last Sunday morning before I went to church, I made a tasty and delicious scrambled eggs sandwich with few other ingredients added in it. As you can see, I enjoy bread buns/rolls better than the regular sliced breads :) But, this sandwich was quite simple as the other one, but of course instead of tuna, I made some scrambled eggs... Read on, and I'll share with you what ingredients I used and how I made this delish simple sandwich.

(mouth drooling.. ahhh, yes it was and tastes great too)

Remind you that I made this last Sunday and I am just now posting it today.. HA! so, I should remember the ingredients I used.. which I do :) Here we go... Ingredients Used: Eggs, Onions, Deli Ham, Green Peppers, Chili Powder, Salt, Pepper, Parsley Flakes, Milk, Cooking Oil, Bread of your choice and Watercress.

How I prepared it: Ahead of time put the skillet on the burner on medium/low, add your oil. When the oil gets hot (not too hot), slice up some onions, green pepper and ham.. I used deli ham. Stir until they are will cooked. Now, crack 4 eggs into a bowl (or how ever many eggs you want to use, depending on the serving size).. I always take out the white part (sorry forgot the name.. eekks) in the egg. Add your seasonings, chili powder, salt, pepper, and parsley flakes, then put in about 2 teaspoon of milk (not sure on the exact measurement, I eyeballed it). Why I use milk in my eggs? because growing up, my mom ALWAYS put milk and lime juice when making scrambled eggs, so I do the same too (sometimes with the lime juice). Mix the eggs well (using a fork, please not a spoon). Add the mixed eggs to the skillet, and used a fork to turn and scramble eggs until its well done. Toast your bread, add the scrambled eggs on it and top it off with watercress.. VOILA!!! and there you have it, a tasty and delish breakfast sandwich.

Green Tropical Smoothie after a Great Work-Out

There's nothing better than working out and keeping yourself healthy inside and out.. I had a GREAT workout this morning, I had went to my local park where it has LOTS of space to work out and play certain sports (soccer). Usually before I start running, I always do some warm-up exercises like STRETCHING, and then I start to jog and do some power walks, and I end all of that with some more stretching.

A couple of days ago, during my break at work I had stopped by Whole Foods Market because I needed to pick up a bottle of Aloe Vera Juice, and then I went to the produce section, seen some green smoothie's and wanted to try one (No, I've never had a Green Juice before).. I heard and read alot about them and seen some on Pinterest. I've always wanted to make some on my own, but had a gut feeling that it was going to taste awful because of the spinach, broccoli and other greens they've added into it.. So, I've decided to just give it a try (the one I bought at whole food market).. and wow, boy was I wrong.. It tasted really good, and it was only made with Spinach, Mango, Pineapple, Banana and Water.

On my way home, I stopped by my local grocery store to pick up some produce to make a nice and healthy GREEN SMOOTHIE, similar to the one I had from Whole Food Market. I had bought the Spinach, Banana,  and Apples instead of the Pineapples, I already had the Mango at home.

How I made my Green Tropical Smoothie

1. Rinsed the Spinach, cut off the leaves and put them into the blender. I put "some" of the stems in the blender as well.

2. Peeled off the Banana skin, sliced them up and tossed those into the blender. I used two Bananas for this.

3. Rinsed the apples, cut them into fours, cut the center and stem out of it and cut them into smaller pieces and put in the blender. I used 1 1/2 apples.

4. Rinsed the Mango (even thought I am not using the skin), peeled the skin off, without getting a chunk of mango on it. Then sliced the mango off of the seed and added it in the blender. I used two Mango.

5. Fill the blender up with water half way. If you want a thick smoothie, than 3/4 of water will do, and if you want to be thin (juice), add lots of water. DO NOT ADD SUGAR

Blend all ingredients together.. and you should have yourself a nice and yummy green smoothie. You can also add other ingredients such as Broccolli, Cucumbers, or whatever fruit and/or vegetable.. But for now, I just wanted to keep mines simple, and in the future I will add other key ingredients. ENJOY!!!

Green Juices/Smoothies are really good for your health. It has lots of fiber to help with your digestive system, they have ALL TYPES of Vitamins and Minerals in them. Great for your skin, hair, your total body and I've become a new fan.. Hopefully I do not abuse this drink ;)

What are some ingredients, other than the ones I've added in my drink do you make with your Green Juice? I am always willing to try new recipes.

Delish Watercress Tuna Fish Sandwich

Mmm Delish... My homemade Tuna Fish Sandwich with Watercress. An easy to make lunch on a beautiful day like this in NY (71 degrees).. Luvin' it :) I whipped me up a quick lunch while at home with tuna fish that I had in my pantry. And with the right kind of ingredients added in the mix, it's Delish!!

Ingredients Used: tuna fish, mayo, chopped green peppers, onions, celery, red pepper (all finely chopped), salt, chili powder, chicken seasoning (knorr-from carribean food markets), bread bun/roll, watercress
How I prepare it: I used a can opener to open 6 small cans of tuna fish, drained the water out from it and then put the tuna in a bowl. I opened a bottle of mayonnaise and put 3 scoops in with the tuna, then I finely chopped some green and red peppers, onions, and celery (add to the bowl), I then put in about 2 pinches of salt (sorry I eyeball my measurements), sprinkled some chili powder and some chicken powder seasoning. Mix it all together. Toast your bread, add the tuna on the bread and instead of using some lettuce, I simple used some watercress (which is great in so many ways).. and then VOILA, you have your self a delicious tuna sandwich. Simple Huh.. Yup!!!

Reading His Words for 2012 Challenge

I wrote a post HERE about reading the Bible every day, but truth is.. I have't. Not that I do not have the time, because I do, but I think my left hand is causing my right hand to sin NO BUENOS. Every time I want to pick up the Bible to read it, well.. something else comes up in my mind or I just get distracted. This was part of my New Years Resolution, and I definitely can't  fail on this, ESPECIALLY when it comes to reading the Bible.

JOIN ME.. To help me a bit with it, I will be following THIS PLAN. It's in chronological, so I will be reading it in the order the events happened, starting from the book of Genesis. Yes, I know that will be skipping some important reading (well alot, because the WHOLE Bible is important).. but just to catch up and follow with the plan, I will just be doing it this way, and further more, I will definitely read the ENTIRE Bible without skipping some chapters and verses. I will be reading from the New Kings James Version. Well, let's get started, because I am way behind... not literally, because I started reading the whole Bible from Genesis and stopped at the book of Numbers, so I will pick up from there in the chronological order that I am following.

So, let's take this challenge and join me in reading the Bible for 2012.. Don't forget to Grab the button!!!!

My New DIY Face Wash/Moisturizer... Honey

Do you know the Benefits of washing your face with Honey? If not, then pull up a seat and come closer to read what I, myself, have experience about the wonders of Honey when it comes to skin care. What’s so great about honey (besides adding it to your meal)? Honey is a natural humectant, which means that it traps and retains moisture, but it’s not all greasy. It is slightly acidic, so it has a very mild exfoliating effect, and honey is naturally antibacterial. Plus, I know that honey does not contain any alarming chemicals. Thanks to Natasha St. Micheal from Raw Radiant Health for sharing her Honey facial wash with me I have sensitive skin, when it comes to my face, its oily and acne prone. When I first experience washing my face with honey, I was a little skeptical at first and thought that it was kind of weird, but it definitely did not hurt and was worth a try, besides.. IT'S ALL NATURAL!!!

Why You Want to Wash Your Face With Honey
1. It is antibacterial and antimicrobial. It will get off any lingering nastiness that’s thinking about setting up camp on your face and creating pimples.
2. It is slightly drying which means it helps soak up any pimples or oiliness.
3. It is also incredibly moisturizing. Seems like a double standard, doesn’t it? But it’s true. Honey sinks into your skin and moisturizes like you wouldn’t believe. (Remember Cleopatra and her honey baths to look young?)
4. It imparts all kinds of beneficial enzymes that work at scrubbing your face for you, as well as perform a little anti-aging action.
5. It’s great for acne, aging skin, normal skin, dry skin … honey loves EVERY SKIN TYPE.
6. It is healing and helps repair acne sores and scars.
7. It’s 100%, absolutely, positively natural, great for your skin, and such a SIMPLE addition to your routine! (Credits: Crunch Betty)

I've spend way too much on buying products that I thought will work for my face, I've tried them all from Neutrogena, Clean and Clear, Simple, Aveeno, Noxema.. you name it, I've basically tried them, even when they say natural. All those crap were gimmicky, some work (for a few days or so) and some just made it worst. I did not know what was I doing wrong, I've tried almost all the products in stores. But, I never literally realized or even thought about using regular food right from my pantry, all natural. And, since washing my face with Honey (a couple of days ago) feels really great, and I do not even apply a moisturizer afterwards, because the Honey did the job for me, and I also did not get that tight, dry feeling anymore when using other facial wash.
How to wash face with Honey? Everybody have their own way of doing it, and they even add other natural ingredients in it like lemon or even aloe vera juice (they both work just as great together).. I wash my face twice a day with it (mornings and evenings) and I really do not use a moisturizer afterwards. I first damped my face with warm water. Then, I apply the honey in the palm of my hand, like the size of a quarter. I rub both of my hands together and apply it on my cheeks first then work my way all around my face. I have it sit for about a minute or two before rinsing it. Now, I rinse my face again with warm water and pat my face dry with a towel. Don't forget to pull your hair back, so it would not get in the way of the honey (I know you don't want honey all over your strands of hair.. who does..). But it's that simply!!!

Wait.. There's more! Using BROWN SUGAR as a FACIAL SCRUB with HONEY.
Perfect Exfoliation, this scrub combines three of the most simple yet effective ingredients for an effective spring cleaning to unclog pores and sweep away the dry rough patches. Like any homemade remedies, it is important to know which ingredient have what properties. For this, there's olive oil for softening the skin, brown sugar for gentle exfoliation, and honey for soothing effect. But why brown sugar? Because sugar is too fine, salt is too rough, and brown sugar is just right and creamy.

Brown Sugar Scrub
1. Mix 3 table spoon equal parts of warm extra virgin olive oil (hint: WARM, not HOT!! Mix well to avoid hot spots that might burn) and store bought brown sugar.
2. Starting with one table spoon of honey, add into your scrub and mix well. Add more until your mixture becomes gooey. Depending on the ingredients you use, you can adjust the amount of each ingredient until your scrub becomes the desire texture, a gooey and slightly sticky mix.
3. Now apply it to a clean and damp face and gently scrub for 1-2 minutes, concentrating on the rough patches.
4. Wash your scrub off with warm water, and follow with a facial treatment or moisturizer. Enjoy your smooth skin.
This can be repeated once to twice a week for best results.

Have you ever tried washing your face with Honey or using any other Natural things right from your pantry?
